Initial assessment will take into account your current health, knowledge of fitness and your current baseline. We will discuss things like how much time you can commit to train each week and your goals.
From this I will assess if we are a good match, and if we are not I can refer you on to the appropriate professional.
All plans are built with your individual needs factored in. For any plan, you will need to realistically commit to at least 3 months to start seeing results. Fitness takes time to achieve, trust the process and enjoy the journey.
Fatigue recovery
For Long covid coaching, I will never ask you to do more than you think you are capable of doing. I do NOT prescribe graduated exercise therapy, in fact it has finally been dismissed as a way to recover from CFS/ME/Fatigue. There was a tired cheer from the CFS/ME community when it was FINALLY struck from the guidelines.
We will establish a baseline you can work at, and revaluate every week, based purely on your perceived exertion. I will, of course actively encourage you to increase activity very gently as time progresses and your baseline improves, again, do not fear! If you feel you can not manage an exercise, you do not have to do it. This can take months, even years of very slow and tiny incremental changes. I myself have had CFS since October 2020 when I developed post-viral fatigue, it has taken me almost 4 years to get to a point where I can work on my fitness again. It has not been without it's ups and downs, of trying so many different treatments and supplements, I dread to think how many thousands of pounds I have wasted trying to find 'the cure'. There isn't one, and there won't be one soon, we have to use tried and tested peer reviewed methods from qualified professionals (and those professionals who are also living with a chronic illness) who have been there, and experienced it for themselves. As we all know, healthy people try their best to understand fatigue, but they rarely, fully comprehend how life limiting it is.
I cannot provide meal plans, diets, advice on supplements or gastrointestinal issues. I am not a registered dietitian/nutritionist. Please seek advise from a professional if you require input on specific things like plans and diet.
I will work with you to develop healthy eating habits that will improve your overall health and wellbeing.
And help you make sustainable changes that will last a lifetime.
