To provide realistic, and achievable goals and plans, adhering to current guidelines, with the objective of getting you to a stable and healthy baseline of energy. Using a person centered approach with attention to the body as a whole. My personal experience as someone who has had to change their entire life to suit a new disability assures you that I understand what you are going through if you are here for long-covid or CFS recovery plans.
I have been a fitness instructor for 11 years.
I developed CFS/ME after an infection in 2020 which brought on 8 months in bed, using ear defenders and eye masks for the sound & light sensitivity that came with this already debilitating disability. I lost muscle, I gained body fat, I thought my life was over. Even taking a shower took every ounce of what little energy I had. My partner did all the cooking, cleaning and housework. It was a very dark time in my life, and I totally understand how you feel if this is what you are going through too. My life was changed after this, being diagnosed with a disability felt like the end of the world for me, but I managed to get my head together and start a recovery plan, never one to be kept down, my resilience kicked in and saved me from going down a very deep hole, of which I'm sure I would have struggled to return from.
Using my experience with this and my professional abilities, we will work together to build you up, and attempt to get you back to a baseline where you can lead a life that is satisfying.
I offer person-centered, tailored plans for my clients, all of these will be delivered remotely, via my app. This not only offers you flexibility, but also enables me to train you without burning myself out at the same time.
It's all about pacing and being mindful for all of us.
You will need a smart phone, tablet, laptop or PC to access your plans.
And you may need to purchase some basic fitness equipment too, for example a set of resistance bands, which are around £10 online.
We will cover more of this in your consultation. Please, feel assured that I am there with you, and still struggle occasionally, I fully understand what you are going through. It's rough, but it's not the end!
I know how scary, and hard it is to commit to a plan right now, it feels impossible, right? You feel like crap all the time. Even making a cuppa is tiring. But you can do this! The first step is, you have to believe in yourself, have confidence and understand that you CAN do this!
We will foster this during our weekly meetings. Let's be realistic here. I'm not saying that I can restore you to who you were before you got ill, but we can certainly try and get you to an understanding of your illness, your new baseline, and to a place where you can begin to enjoy activities again without the worry of going too far.
